About Data Destroy

Privacy you can verify

We built Data Destroy so anyone can find out who holds their personal data and get it deleted, without writing a single email themselves. That is the whole mission: turn a vague, exhausting worry into a tracked set of deletion requests already in motion.

The product is built to earn that trust at the structural level. It reads only Gmail metadata (the gmail.metadata scope, never your message bodies or attachments), stores what it needs encrypted per user, and can crypto-shred everything. Clear your per-user key and the stored data is permanently unreadable.

Grounded in real rights

The deletion requests we send on your behalf rest on real statutory rights: GDPR Article 17 (the right to erasure) and CCPA. Each one is generated region-aware, so the request cites the law that applies to you.

We are honest about the limits. We can’t force a company to act. What we can do is send legally grounded requests, track the responses, and keep following up, so the burden no longer sits with you.

Who is behind it

Data Destroy is built by a small EU-based team. Being based in Europe shapes how we think about data minimization, consent, and the right to be forgotten. We hold ourselves to that standard no matter where you live.

We don’t sell your data and we run no third-party trackers. Every request we send goes out under an authorization you signed and can independently verify. The constraints we publish in our privacy policy are the ones the software actually enforces.
